5/10/2023 0 Comments La mulana capster![]() Unconnected series of battles and events in a RTS game? He turns it into A Scotsman in Egypt. If you're a fan of SA but felt the story needed some tweaking, check it out. It even manages to shoehorn in several unused Chekov's Guns to explain why CJ was the best man to clean the streets in the finale. It does a great job of fleshing out the story in areas where CJ's motivations make extreme leaps for seemingly no reason (I'm looking at you, Deconstruction, as well as CJ's lack of angst in many of the intro and post-Act 1 levels.) Also does an amazing job of framing the end-game riots as the epic explosion of social factors it was supposed to be, something the game rushed to mediocre effect. One of my favorite LPs outside of those already mentioned is this one for San Andreas: Absolutely hilarious and I wish to see more. There's more but those are my top recommends for now. Also they've got some excellent credit songs.ĭrakengard by The Dark Id: A game that ranks just one GrimDark meter below Warhammer 40K is deconstructed child-killing brick by child-killing brick. Spoiler Warning: What you get when you have three Deadpan Snarkers with a penchant for poking holes in plots playing one of the most shoddily-plotted games around (Fallout 3) complete with turning the Lone Wanderer Reginald Cuftbert into a Stupid Evil drug-addicted Ninja Rambo with a nice bonnet. For first-timers, the guys are actually pretty good at the game and don't die all that often (though they did once get Charlie wiped out by Hama when auto-fighting their way through mooks). Giant Bomb Endurance Run: The Persona 4 ER is absolutely fantastic, where Charlie Tunoku goes through the journey for truth (or alternatively, the journey to get into Chie's skirt). They make a game that's already stupidly hilarious even funnier. The fast-forward edits are always pretty funny and his "WTF?!" reactions at the insanity of the puzzles are entertaining as hell.ĭead To Rights by Slowbeef and Diabetus: The Retsupurae guys handle a game that's Narm incarnate (next to Sonic 2006). King's Quest V by Paw: First, this guy has one of the best intros to LPs ever (Antonio Banderas cracks neck before uttering "Let's play"). I especially loved the SWAT 4 LP where he got so pissed off at the cultists/Scientologists/whatever that he blew them up in the epilogue. The Spoony One: Everything this guy does is gold. Most of my choices have already been put forth. I'll also add recommendations for Boatmurdered's sequels, the equally hilarious Headshoots () and Syrupleaf (), as well as Metroixer's intriguing exploration into the glitches in Pokemon Blue ("Breaking Blue" ()) and Quovak's critical look at Yahtzee (of Zero Punctuation fame)'s own Chzo Mythos () series, with unexpected commentary from the designer himself! What can I say, it's an awesome game.Īs an avid reader of LPs, I can add my own recommendation to some of those already made in this thread - Boatmurdered () is insane and hilarious, The Terrible Secret of Animal Crossing () is epic and the first LP I ever read, and Giant Bomb's Persona 4 Endurance Run () was so good I was genuinely sad when it ended. I think Cubey will cry if I won't mention his SRW Z LP (), so let's do that. Especially with all the TWEWY references. Except for the X-Com Apocalypse LP, I haven't seen it. Lastly, this () X-Com Apocalypse LP.Īnd this. Non-Giant LPs? Anything by Deceased Crab (). While I like the first one, the second one was disappointing for me. ![]() SRW in general makes fun Let's Plays, if work-intensive to update: make sure to check Oslecamo's LP of SRW OG2, and mine (shameless promotion!) of SRW Z.Īs far as shameless promotion is still concerned, I also did two LPs of GalCiv II. It wasn't finished due to time restraints, but it was fun while it lasted. His writing style is hilarious, the updates were timed just right, and there was great audience participation.Īlso, Nerdorama's Super Robot Wars J. Only seen the first five parts but they're pretty good.Ĭhiasaur's LPs of the X-Com series. Oh, I almost forgot.Linkara's Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force () Let's Play.
